Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Massage is an ancient form of bodywork which was developed and has been perfected for more than 2500 years.  The philosophy behind Thai Bodywork is that optimum health is dependent upon achieving a balance of body, mind and spirit.  A Thai Massage offers rhythmical work that perfectly balances the body’s need for movement and stretching by opening the energy flow within your body.  You will experience a relaxed state in which excessive worry and desire seem to evaporate away.

Massage is one of the oldest of all medical treatments.
It uses the powerful medium of touch
to facilitate healing and connection
with all aspects of the self.
It is beneficial for all body systems and is a safe,
non-invasive way to promote relaxation
and to stimulate the body’s own
innate healing mechanisms.

How does Thai Massage differ from other types of massage?

A basic massage is a treatment that involves rubbing or kneading the muscles as an aid to relaxation.  Thai Massage is a more active approach performed on a padded floor mat instead of a table.  You will remain fully clothed and no oils/lotions need to be applied.  The Thai Massage Therapist will use various parts of her body to open energy lines and break up toxins which are stored within your body.  The therapist will use passive stretching and gentle pressure along energy lines to adjust the skeletal structure, increasing your flexibility and softening your muscle tissue.
